The Bonney's take on Ottawa - Friday

Clearly this "workation" is wearing my boys out.  Hunter slept until 8am and Drew slept in until 9!!!

Today my plan was to conquer the Museum of Civilization.  I called before we left to ask where exactly the parking was.  The girl I talked to acted as if I was the biggest idiot on earth.  "Uh, it's at the main entrance m'am"....."ahem...right, well I've never been before so I wanted to make sure" I replied.  Of course I would never tell her that I had attempted to go a few days ago and retreated after not being able to find the lot.

I am the biggest idiot on earth.

The thing is, I get overwhelmed when I'm driving in a new place and there is lots of traffic.

I blame it on my country bumpkin roots.

Anyways....once at the museum, we headed straight for the children's museum (found inside the museum of civilization).  What a great place!  It's all hands on and is meant for the kids to explore it top to bottom.  I was a bit over whelmed at first, as there were tons of people and the boys wanted to go in different directions....but we found our rhythm eventually and had a great day.  There was a giant boat replica with a working crane on it.  Drew found that and literally spent hours playing with it.

Drew at the crane controls.

Hooking up the load.

Bonney brother's shipping and receiving.

"Yup, I'm still on the boat...I'm the captain..."

Building a wall...

We came home around 3:30.  James beat us home.  He had testing all day today and was therefore home early.  James went and picked up dinner for us to eat in our room (pizza pizza and wendy's salads) and then we went to the park here at the hotel, for a walk to the gelato place and then finally, to sugar mountain.

Our gelato's were delicious.  We tried the skor and lemon kinds.  They were ridiculously expensive though...over $5.00 each!  AND...this place was always packed.  Crazy.

Once back at our hotel, James whispered to Drew that he was going to take him for a swim while I put H to bed.  This was all well and good, until H caught wind of the secret swim and was dragging his life-jacket out of the closet so he could go to the pool too.  He was way to cute with the life-jacket in his hand, saying "pool too???"  I dressed him too, and we all went down to the pool.

I dragged H out early and he was asleep by the time the other 2 boys were back at the room.

James and I had planned to watch a movie after the boys were asleep, but that plan was foiled when I fell asleep putting Drew to bed.

Oh well.....par for the course.

And that's it!  Our week in Ottawa has come to an end.  It was fantastic.  I wasn't sure how it was going to go....navigating a new city with 2 little boys in tow, but I'm really glad we tagged along with James.  We got to see him a lot more this week than we do normally when he's working at the airport!

Now, when is the next training course???
