The week in Pictures

Quality time with Uncle Jamie playing Wii
We hosted Hunter's playgroup friends on Monday

Our tent was brought out again.

Drew demanded his juice in a wine glass....we are high class around these parts!  lol

It's very tiring, being 2

I had a job interview on Tuesday night, so James took the boys to Skedaddle while I was there (I found out on Wednesday that I got the job!  A .5 LTO doing kindergarten coverage until March 7)

While I was at work, James and Hunter hit the gym.

Nana and Papa watched the boys while I worked...they had a great time.

H and I went to a playdoh playgroup on Friday.

Outdoor mud/sand fun

I went to a movie night with some momstown moms on Friday night - Nana and Papa watched the boys.

It's thrilling to have scrambled eggs for lunch.

Happy Birthday Nana and other adventures...

It is very hard and serious work, this crafting business.

Happy birthday Nana!  I'm not 100% sure how old she is...have seen documentation that says she was born in 1950 and 1951....it was all a ploy to avoid a 60th birthday party.....we will hit her with a party when she's 70.

Thomas has re-entered our lives....

Honestly, sometimes I can't take their cuteness...

I upped the requirements of a good fort - added a 3rd chair...James was immediately told that I'm the better fort-builder...ha ha!!!

After they played in the fort for a while, they went off to the craft room and came back with these..."look mom, we made our own Iphones"  I'm not sure if this is cute, or absolutely ridiculous.  I'm going with cute.

Complete with the circle on the back for the camera......

More serious crafting...

There is a puddle on the winners circle at my parent's place that froze over.  Instant skating rink!

He's starting to like it and is getting much better.  Last saturday, he had another major freak out at his lessons...but after some time on my parent's "rink" he asked if he could take lessons for the rest of his life so he could keep getting better.  We'll see how next saturday goes.

We've got to get this little man some skates too.

The chalk board is still lots of fun...

Slurpys and popcorn after skating while we watch the big kids practice hockey.

"Mommy, when can I play hockey?"  (when your parent's win the lottery, hunny)

We made chocolates, they were delicious.

more skating fun...

Look who's home for a visit!

Subway Adventure

We decided to take an adventure on Sunday.  We rode the Subway!  I can't say I was extremely comfortable with the whole thing, I was essentially a fish out of water, but the boys had a GREAT time.

We met Lisa and Katie at Maple Leaf Gardens (now a grocery store) for lunch.  Katie's sister, Julia, is in the hospital, so we wanted to get the boys out to see K to cheer her up a bit....

Centre ice!  Have to say, thought they would have at least put a sign up or something to show what this dot was.

Delicious cupcakes!

It was a good time.  Wasn't overly impressed with the grocery store, but really, it's a grocery store not sure what I was expecting.  Was nice to see Lisa and Katie, but the boys had had enough shortly after we ate.

In order to catch the subway, we parked at Yorkdale, so I dragged the boys to Pottery Barn kids to browse once we were back from TO.  I always love looking in that store, but then am so depressed when we leave because we can never afford anything there.

Another day, another adventure in the life of the Bonney family!

Catch up

A post filled with pictures to catch my blog up to today....it's been a busy, activity, work-filled 2 weeks....

January 2 - We decided a trip to skedaddle was in order.  Bumped into one of James' friends from university (James was at work though, so sad) but was good to see him regardless.  Drew kept asking me who that "big man" was that I was talking to.  That's what happens when your husband's friends were all basketball players I guess.  LOL

January 3 - We headed to Brenda and Allie's place for a fun, snowman themed playgroup.  I (I mean, the boys...lol) had a great time catching up with friends.

After playgroup we headed to Nana and Papa's for some more fun.

January 4 - We hosted some of Drew's friends from school and their parents for a dinner party.

January 5 - The boys went for dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's while James and I had some time to ourselves (we watched the new mission impossible movie).  It was a happy surprise that Katie was visiting them at the same time.

When we got home, we found this on our doorstep.  We are sampling some new Kellogg's cereals....they have been hit and miss at our house.

January 6 - Drew was at gymnastics camp (Cartwheels gymnastics in Georgetown) so Hunter and I joined momstown at the Fire hall.

January 7 - We finally brought the kitchen table up from the basement.  Initiated back into life with us with a play doh game.

January 8 - The boys and I read a book about robots.  Naturally, the boys wanted to make their own robots...craft time it was!

Hunter has been wearing this necklace on and off since New years eve.

They traced their own feet for the feet of the robot.  Look how big Drew's are!!!

Can you believe it's January!!!??  Sandbox time!

January 11 - After work, the boys and I headed to Kelly's house for dinner.  The boys had a great time playing with their buds and I had a great time catching up with Kelly.  Must. Do. That. More. Often!!
After Kelly's, I decided I should go to the library really quick.  I wanted to try and pick up some Medieval Times books for the class I was teaching all week and the boys had some Wii games that were on hold for them.  Not the best idea I'd ever had.  They were both exhausted (duh, it was 8pm) and Hunter actually started screaming in the middle of the library (not the best place to have a screaming child).  My face went beet red and we high tailed it out of there.

January 12 -  I worked all week (January 9-13) at Silver Creek PS, so didn't take many photos.  I snapped this one before I left for work in the morning.  They love this playmobil set (thank you Uncle Jamie!).

That night, James and I went to Martin Street for an information meeting about french immersion.  It starts in Grade 1 in Halton and we weren't sure if we were going to send Drew.  After much discussion and hearing the information at the meeting, I think we've decided against it.  Drew is still really struggling with his english (reading and writing) and I don't think moving schools and having half of his day in french, would help him.  The clincher for me was that when Hunter starts school, he would have to go to Pineview and wouldn't be allowed to join his brother at Martin Street.

I don't know if we're making the right decision, but it feels right in my gut, so we're going with it.

January 13 - Another early morning shot.  This time it's Hunter and Candy land.  There are no words to describe how much this kid loves Candy land!  Daddy got to play with him at 7 in the morning!

After a hard week for both of us, we took the boys to the Ivy Arms for dinner and (for James and I) a couple of much deserved beers.  I survived Friday the 13th as a supply teacher, that should be worth something!!

After the Ivy Arms, the boys got some ice cream at McDonald's.
A big thank you to Nana and Papa and Grandma and Grandpa.  They took great care of our boys while James and I were both at work this week.  The boys weren't really sure about me working every day this week (in fact, by the end of the week, there were tears as I left), but we got through it, and I've learned that I am capable of doing it......now to get a job!  Maybe someone will hire me someday.....

January 14 - Drew had his first skating lesson today.  He was very excited and I was very impressed with how organized the whole thing was.  They had things for us to pin on their skates (to tell which class they were in) and stickers that said their name and their class for on top of their helmets.  We all lined up with the kids and when it was time, teachers came and picked the kids up and skated them over to their classes.  It was quite cute.

The class started out alright, but by the middle of it, Drew was in tears.  It was quite painful to watch.  He kept falling down, getting back up, falling down....a teacher ended up taking him over to a bench on the sidelines and talking to him for a bit.  He ended up back on the ice for the end of the class, but had tears in his eyes as we took him into the change room. He's told me many times that he doesn't want to go back.  The next 9 weeks will be painful....hopefully he gets better fast and then will learn to love it.

Drew went to Christopher's birthday party tonight (James took him) and Hunter and I stayed in and played a million rounds of candy land.

Once the boys were settled in bed, James and I watched "the hangover pt 2".  We didn't have high expectations for the movie, but it turned out to be pretty funny!

And that's it....we're back on track with this blog!
