The Fall so Far....

We've got a little beaver in our house now.  Drew started Beavers with the 7th Milton colony.  He's doing it with his playgroup buddy, Cody.  He's loved it so far.

I turned a year older, James and the boys got a cake for me (and my MIL whose birthday is in the same month)

We've made a favourite tree at Nana and Papa's into a climbing tree.  The boys have spent a lot of time playing in it.

Add a cushion and voila, it's a fort now!

The boys love their Nana.

Maple syrup is something that we've been wanting to produce for quite some time now.  On a small level of course (only enough for us, if that).  I've been searching on ebay and all over the internet for these spigots for about a year now and they were in our basement the whole time.  I should have known.  Dad had them all along, but didn't know I was looking for them!  Can't wait until the spring to try them out!

Finally made our first trip to the kawartha dairy near the cottage.  It was YUMMY!

Drew has started basketball.  He LOVES it.

We had thanksgiving dinner at our friend's cottage.

The boys playing at ours.  Still no floor, maybe one day!  lol

We spent thanksgiving Monday at the Erin fall fair with Nana and Papa.

We met up with John, Sue and Larissa there.

We harvested our pumpkin.  The boys were SO excited.

Friends of ours grow GIANT pumpkins.  They grew one this year that weighed over 1300lbs.  It won 1st place at the fair.  They even wrote a book on growing giant pumpkins.  I bought the book, but typical me, didn't really read it until after I had planted the plant that they gave me.  Turned out I didn't give the plant enough room to grow in my garden.  This pumpkin was grown on one of the side vines and grew off to the side of my garden, in my lawn!  Next year will be better!!

Happy Birthday, Drew!

September has ALWAYS been an exciting month for me, because my birthday is in this month.  6 years ago, it became even more exciting because Drew entered our lives.

Drew's birthday was especially drawn out this year because we waited for 2 weeks after his actual birthday to host his party.

On his actual birthday, Drew had school.  We celebrated early, with pancakes for breakfast (with a candle, of course!).

We picked Drew up early from school on this day.  I was really considering letting him stay home from school, but it was so early in the school year I was worried about starting bad habits....so he went, and then we rescued him early.  His teacher made a big deal of his day, giving him a card and a "giant" box of smarties.  He was all smiles when he came home.

Once home, we built his new lego sets.....that took a while.  A LONG while.  Nana, Papa, Grandma and Grandpa then joined us at East Side Mario's for our traditional birthday meal.

Drew was SPOILED by his grandparents.

To top off the evening, we ate cupcakes.

The next time we were at Nana's, Drew had this awesome toy to open.  Aunt Fran couldn't join us for any celebrations this year, so she sent this instead.  The boys LOVE this boat.

It floats, AND can attach to a playmobil motor that we have.  Woohoo!

The BIGGEST excitement though, was saved for the 21st of September.  We met his friends at Chuck E Cheese and PARTIED.

It was a fun-tastic time.  The kids were great (for the most part) and Drew felt very loved.

The "free ticket" game.

Happy birthday, Drew.  We love you so very much.
