December Fun

I'm having trouble bringing the photos I take on my phone over to my computer, so I've been waiting for the photos to be on my computer before I post...it's been a week, I should just post.  Here it goes...

Tuesday = gymnastics day.  Here are some videos...

Dumping lego and scooping it up with trucks is REALLY, REALLY fun if you are a 2 or 5 year old boy.

December 1 we started our Christmas countdown extravaganza.  Complete with 3 advent calendars.  1 that I fill with my own crap (ahem, really cool things for little boys) a lego one and a playmobil one.

Our mornings are very exciting now.

That evening we met Nana at her house to play and then went to the Georgetown "light up the hills" party.  We stayed for a total of 45 minutes.  Saw the lights turn on, ran into an old friend (dearest Bradley, was SOO good to see him and his family), played on the playground in the dark, almost lost my children because we were playing on the playground in the dark and then almost got to sit in a firetruck, but missed out because a lady passed out in the parking lot and needed the heroic firemen's help (turned out to be more exciting than sitting in a firetruck, so thanks lady!).

Friday was our best "christmasy" day thus far.  We kept Drew home from school, packed the van and headed to Puddicome farm and winery.  We were joining momstown on a Christmas adventure.  We were guided on a train ride by none other than Mrs. Claus herself.  We then made some pictures for Santa on an old train coach, made some jingle bells and then listened to the "Polar Express" being read while we sipped hot chocolate and ate home-made cookies.

How do you follow this activity up, you may ask??

By buying a whole crap-load of fudge from their store, that's how.

Once home, Hunter napped, and Drew, James and I played.  When Hunter awoke, we wrote our letters to Santa...

The "baby boy" kinda threw me for a loop....came totally out of the blue!

...and then went to pick out our Christmas tree.

Best day ever.

The next day, James and the boys cut the bottom off the tree so we could put it up in our house.

James thankfully came away with all of his fingers.  I was a bit worried for a minute.

Once up, there was some vacuuming to do.  Luckily the boys work so well together (in the photo below, Hunter is trying to yank the vacuum away from Drew by pulling the power cord - sigh).

James went to work and we worked on some crafts.  We actually attempted to do some grocery shopping, get hair cuts and some other important things once he left, but we failed at everything except going to the dollar store to pick up more craft supplies.  It was CRAZY busy everywhere.....Oh, and we made it to the Thomas book store so I could renew my i-rewards card (needed it to order my dad a book) and get some treats from Starbucks.

Once we were done with our crap-tacular crafts, we headed to Nana and Papa's, where I dropped the boys off and skipped off to the grocery store by myself to get the supplies for pizza making that evening (along with all of our other groceries that we so desperately needed).  Grocery shopping on the weekend, in December, with 2 boys tagging along is not advisable and I was SOOOO thankful that my parents agreed to take them so I could do it solo.

That evening we made pizzas, and if I can ever get the photos off my phone, I will post some.  It. was. so. FUN!  I knew it was going to be fun, as Drew suggested it, so I knew he'd be into it, I just didn't realize how much he'd be into it.  He made menus, was pretending he was a waiter....it was hilarious.  Hunter had a great time too.  He liked decorating his pizza with the sauce and the cheese, but while I was cutting the meat, he was scooping the sauce and cheese off again with his hands-and putting as much as he could fit into his mouth.  So funny.

Anyways, that's all I got for now......will post more later on.

Happy December!!!
