I've learned something about myself.  I've learned that I literally need to be kicked in the ass in order for me to be motivated into some sort of action.  This blog was started as a virtual memory book because my friend was pregnant.  She was pregnant and was asking me questions about my pregnancies.  Do you think I could remember anything?  No.  This sparked this blog.  My hope was that I would be dedicated enough to put photos/comments on here that would allow me to look back and remember, cause apparently relying on my memory was not a good plan.

This worked for a little while, with a few blips here and there.

The past month has not been good (in terms of blog entries), and then the ass-kicking came.  Do you know who gave me this ass-kicking?  A high school drama.

I know, I'm pathetic.

One Tree Hill came to a close last week.  It's series finale played on Wednesday night and do you know what I found out?  It's been playing for 9 years.  For 9 years I have been watching that show religiously and now it's over.  I panicked.  I made James and I make lists of the things we wanted to accomplish in the next few years (we didn't come up with much - finish a duathlon, take the boys on a canoe trip and clean out the room downstairs that is supposed to be a bathroom and make it a bathroom - but only if we're going to be living here for another 10 years).

That's it, seriously.  We're not very ambitious, I guess.

After the freak out about goals and wasting time not having goals and holy crap, 9 years have gone by in the blink of an eye, I came up with one more goal.

To keep this damn blog/journal thing up to date.  By golly, I'm going to do it!  So, here's a catch up from where we left off in the last post....

We went to Laurie and Andre's sex party.  It was a great time and we are all so excited for them to bring a new little one into their (and our) lives.

Mr C was kept busy!

Faster, faster....

The cake was coloured inside, to tell us if new baby is a boy or a girl.....such a great idea!
The next day, Laurie and I went out for lunch and saw the movie "Friends with kids".  It was great fun. James had the boys at home, and they had a good time too.

Drew did 9 days straight of swimming lessons.  Preschool E.  It was the first time we'd done lessons like this and I think we'll be doing it again.  Drew took a lot away from the lessons and it was over in a flash.  Plus, he had a 2 to 1 ratio.....awesome

It was a bit much for him though.  He passed out on the couch at 7pm....hasn't done that in a long time!

Drew and I went to a movie night at his school to raise money for the grade 5 end of the year field trip.  We watched the new Muppet movie.

The boys and I met L, N and the girls at Chuck E Cheese and then went to Licks for ice cream afterwards.  I love how close the boys are to their cousins.

The pictures below are our first attempt at blowing out and dying eggs.  Note - brown eggs do not take dye well.

Our back garden, which was once something I was very proud of, has grown into a complete mess.  After Hunter's 2 year stint of not sleeping, the weeds have beaten me down.  This year, we are planning on just turning the whole thing over and starting again.  It was once half flowers/half vegetables.  I think it'll just be all vegetables this year....if we can ever get that soil worked up!

And that's that, here's hoping I can keep on top of this thing now.....

Another Photo Recap

For something a little different over March break, we slept over at Nana and Papa's.  We went to their house much earlier than usual (mostly because I couldn't take the "is it time yet??" questions.  First thing on the agenda was heading to the park.

Bedtime stories with Nana.
The following day, we woke early and then went and picked daddy up from home, the science centre was our next stop...

Later that week, we drove to Windsor to visit some friends at their new house.  We only stayed 1 night and left at lunch time the next day, as H and I were under the weather.

Fun with Uncle Lucas.

Hunter has this habit of falling asleep on the couch while big brother is playing Wii.  It's always close in time to his nap time, which he had phased out, but now that he's got a bit of a cold, it's back in full force.
That's it for now, the screen is still looking a bit blurry.  I've had this damn cold on and off now for the past 3 weeks.  I'm so sick of it, I can't even put it into words.

Until next time....

Photo Recap

Momstown craft playgroup - making snowflakes.  Drew was obsessed with making them for days after.

My mom's friend got the boys this firetruck.  Drew decided to put the fire out in the fire place with it (it shoots water)...don't worry, I didn't let him get very close to the fire, and it wasn't a big fire (I had only just lit it).

Every toy was dumped out, in a matter of less than 5 minutes!

Cookies keep the monsters at bay in the grocery store....sometimes.

Drew and Hunter spent a couple of days checking all of the smoke detectors in in everyone's house.

Drew's seed list for the spring....now to get the raised beds built....pinterest has given me some ideas!

Drew had a buddy over for a playdate.  For the most part, they included Hunter, which made me very happy.

Play doh with their buddy.

Looking at Monster trucks with Nana (our newest obsession).

Santa had bought them straws that turn white milk into chocolate milk...we've still got some.

Finger painting led to the need for a bath....both boys were turned into smurfs.

Hunter's new bike.

Drew sometimes crawls into H's crib to keep him company in the morning.  It's super cute.

Chalk board fun.

Drew ready for PJ day at school.

Hunter and his puzzles.

Haircuts!

I only worked 2 days this week!  We couldn't figure out care for the boys for either Thursday or Friday (Monday was a holiday), so I stayed home with them.  Can't say that I wasn't a little bit bummed that I missed out on some money, but I did have a great time hanging out with the boys while I was off.  It's so hard to know what is best....work = money or time with boys = happy mommy/boys but no money.....if only we could win the damn lottery!

Anyways...Tuesday was a blur.  I worked all day, helped out with the school's book fair after school and then went to a work-shop on how boys and girls learn differently.  The work-shop was a bust, didn't feel like I learned anything.  On the plus side, we got free pizza!  The boys spent the day/evening in Brampton at Grandma and Grandpa's.  I had to drive to Brampton to pick them up after the workshop (at 7:30)...once the boys crashed, I did too!!

Wednesday is my "half-day".  I left work, and met James and Hunter at Subway.  He had his first fruit roll-up there (a momentous occasion).

Hunter loving his fruit roll-up.
After lunch, we went next door and got H's hair cut.  His hair was getting a tad bit ridiculous.  He was a little distracted by the fire-truck he got to sit in, but sad pouty lip came out several times.  The boy does not like to get his hair cut.

Thursday was crazy craft, water play, let's get every toy we have in the house out day.  It was fabulous.

if you'll notice, Drew is dumping the bottle of water onto the floor, not into the water table.  He is saying, "oops" in the photo.

The boys tasting a "hostess cupcake" for the first time.  For some reason I feel compelled to take photos of them eating the crap foods from my childhood.  For the record, these were bought by my dad for him to take to work for HIS lunch.  It's nice to know that I come by my love of junk-food honestly.
Friday we had a snow storm.  It didn't seem that bad first thing in the morning.  The buses in Halton were still running (they had been cancelled in Peel and several other school boards).  Drew went off to school and H and I hunkered down for a day at home.  I had to head out though, as we were out of diapers (brilliant on my part) so off we went, into the snow storm (which had started full-force).  The good thing was, that no one else was on the road and Wal-mart was essentially empty.

Once Drew came home, the storm had passed and we had a phone call from Nana/Papa asking us why we weren't at their house yet!  We got in the van and headed to the Glen to hang out with them.

And that's that....I'll do another post on our weekend.
